About NFC tags
NFC tag is a safe and non-intrusive way to identify your dog or cat. Each microchip is customised and securely encrypted to each owner’s requirements. Your NFC tag can then be easily identified by simply tapping any smart phone against NFC tag.
Waterproof tag with a microchip inside that you attach to your pet’s collar. If your pet is ever lost then anyone with a smart phone can scan the tag and contact you directly via information which was programmed onto the device enabling you to recover your beloved fur baby.
NFC tag is designed to address what’s lacking in a conventional tag:
Secured. NFC tag has microchip. Information written on the chip cannot be altered.
Non-intrusive. Conventional microchipping of animals require the injection of a microchip encapsulated in glass into the animal. NFC tag is attached without the need for needles, injections and implants.
Visible & Convenient. With conventional microchipping, not only is it impossible to tell if an animal is microchipped but it is very inconvenient to bring the animal to a vet who has a specialised reader to identify the microchip.
Secure and Confidential. The NFC tag owner’s details need to be stored for NFC tag recovery. NFC device stores this information securely in the microchip only, ensuring that the information remains confidential and accessible only when required.
Readily available technology. Reading a conventional implanted microchip requires specialised readers – this deters recovery. NFC tags employ a technology that is widely available in any smart phone today, no software installation required.
Costs. Tagging your fur baby with NFC tag will be significantly cheaper than paying local council fees and fines if your pet is taken to the pound.
Absolutely not! NFC tag is positioned to complement a microchip implant if there already is one. NFC tag can readily be scanned on smart phones whereas a microchip implant requires a specialised reader. Microchip number can be securely stored in NFC tag along with other important information that can be accessed by smart phones to facilitate recovery.
There is no subscription fee. You fully own the tag and all its’ functionality independent of us.
Typically we encode following information on each tag. Pet’s name, Owner’s name, Owner’s contact information (phone, email, home address). You can also store more details about your pet, such as medical information, special needs (if any) and microchip details.
NFC tag follows ISO protocol and encoding standards. You will be able to scan NFC tag on any NFC enabled smart phones.
Current operating system of Android phones allows Android phone users just tap rear of phone against NFC tag to read stored information. Iphone users will need free NFC tools app to allow access to the stored information.
NFC tag is great for all mobile phone owners who want to recover their lost NFC tag! As long as your phone can receive SMS text messages NFC tag will work for you.
After scanning NFC tag with your smart phone, you should be able to see information encoded onto the chip.
For security reasons, NFC tag is locked permanently after encoding with your information. NFC tag is permanently yours and nobody (including us) can change that.
We understand that there will be situations whereby you will need to change the information. Get in touch with us and we will assist you with updates if required.
Absolutely. NFC tag is only restricted by the amount memory (information) it has in the microchip.
NFC tag is restricted by the memory available in the microchip that it uses. The amount of memory at our disposal is limited by today’s semi-conductor technology.
Absolutely not! You care for your NFC tag and you should get your NFC tag protected now! And as long as you are registered with us, you will be able to enjoy all upgrades at heavily discounted prices.
Of course! If you have an existing QR code subscription, send us your QR code and we will encode that into your NFC tag. All information that you have stored in your QR code, can now to retrieved by NFC tag.
Your QR Code App will also be able to read NFC tag.
The data on tag can be accessed by any phone or NFC reader anywhere in the world.
No. GPS enabled tags are powered by batteries. Those batteries are toxic If accidentally swallowed by your pet. Therefore we chose not to offer GPS enabled tags in our product range.
Three major differences:
You need specialised readers to read injected microchip (we use a smart phone)
Injected microchips are not visible (ie you won’t know that the dog is chipped)
You can decide what to store in our chip. You can’t do that for injected microchips.
Life spam of NFC tag (if not physically damaged) is 10+ years.
We offer 5 year replacement warranty for all our NFC tags. Warranty does not apply to physically damaged tags.
